Sweetest Gift On Earth

They say my head’s too little for
These big old hats I wear.
But, hey, they said I’d never be,
I didn’t have a prayer.

My mamma had no babies
And time was rushing on.
At her age, mamma shouldn’t try.
Something would be wrong.

But, here I am, eyes shining;
Sparkle in my smile!
Mom and Dad, they think that they
Will keep me for awhile!

They tell all those around them,
"Don’t stop a baby’s birth.
For all our care and worries, we have
The sweetest gift on earth!"
